Position Purpose: Provide benefit enrollment assistance, assist with redetermination requirements, assist with enrollment in supplemental food assistance programs, and partner with patients to ensure primary healthcare funding is uninterrupted. The Benefits Liaison partners with the Finance and Operations departments to ensure patients’ benefits are maintained and remain active.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred

• Prior experience with Medicaid benefit verification and Medicaid enrollment preferred

• Flexibility in daily activities

• Strong attention to detail

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to accurately complete required documentation within prescribed timeframes

• Demonstrated exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently

• Ability to quickly establish rapport with patients and staff

• Computer proficiency required

• Ability to navigate and complete documentation in electronic systems

• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Agency insurance requirements

• Must have reliable transportation

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Work prescribed hours and any additional hours deemed necessary to fulfill assigned responsibilities.

2. Assist consumers with Medicaid enrollment and, when necessary, food stamp enrollment both in person and virtually.

3. Gather and assist with the completion of all DHS/SSI/SSDI worksheets and application packets to expedite Medicaid approval.

4. Collect, copy, and submit required identification and financial documentation (income, receipts, bills, identification, etc.).

5. Obtain approved Representative forms to act on behalf of clients when enrolling in benefit portals.

6. Serve as the agency expert on enrolling clients in Illinois Medicaid through the ABE portal, including the Expediting Entitlements Program process (may require training or review of training materials).

7. Serve as the agency expert on enrolling clients in Iowa Medicaid through the HHS website and assist with block grant eligibility when applicable.

8. Act as the primary contact with Directors of Expediting Entitlements Program partner organizations.

9. Maintain and track statistics related to the progress of program participants and overall program outcomes.

10. Maintain communication with other programs to ensure progress is being made with each client.

11. Prepare monthly status reports indicating the number of individuals who have started, are in process, and have completed the benefits process.

12. Perform additional duties necessary to support Medicaid enrollments and redeterminations across all states where Medicaid services are provided.

13. Complete required audits for the Benefits Liaison team and track key performance indicators (KPIs).

14. Assist in training new team members and provide ongoing training related to existing and new processes. Provide training to other departments on financial eligibility, funding sources, and related topics as needed.

15. Supervise the Benefits Liaison Team by conducting monthly check-ins, completing annual performance evaluations, and managing employee relations issues.

16. Resolve issues related to financial reports, including billing inaccuracies or withheld billing.

17. Participate in mandatory Payment Card Industry (PCI) training, maintain access controls, and comply with PCI Data Security Standard (DSS) security requirements.

18. Develop streamlined processes for applying for benefits.

19. Assist consumers with appointments related to obtaining benefits.

20. Understand and comply with all of the principles established by the Rosecrance Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

21. Perform all responsibilities in compliance with the mission, vision, values, and expectations of Rosecrance.

22. Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.

23. Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.

Schedule: 8 hour shifts

Monday-Friday 8:30-5:00pm.

Job Type: Full-time
