Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Orientation Requirement: Candidates must be available to attend a full-time, 12-week orientation program beginning on their start date.


Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:
The OB Technician performs any combination of the following duties in the care of patients in the hospital, under direction of a Registered Nurse. Provides care for patients and family/significant others across the life span based on physical, psycho-social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of patients served in the patient care unit. Responsibilities will include direct patient/family contact, departmental duties, material management, communication and departmental housekeeping. Follows and understands the standards and recommended practices according to department standards. The OB Technician is responsible for scrub duties assigned for cesarean section deliveries as well as occasional vaginal deliveries.

Ideal candidate has:

-CNA and/or Patient Care Liaison (PCL) background.

-Women’s Health hospital experience, especially in Labor & -Delivery and postpartum.

-Previous exposure to surgical scrub role or OB surgical procedures.

Orientation Duration: 6-12 weeks depending on prior Labor & Delivery & scrub experience


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

- High school graduate or equivalent.

Licenses/Certifications:

- Certified Nursing Assistant.

- Maintain American Heart Association Health Care Provider BLS

-NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)– required at hire or before completion of orientation; renewed every 2 years.

Knowledge/Skills:

- Must possess current cognitive knowledge in medical terminology and abbreviation.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- 1 year of previous Direct Patient Care experience in a Healthcare setting.

-Surgical Scrub Tech Certification
