OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced retail pharmacist to serve as a clinical and operational resource, providing high-quality pharmaceutical care while supporting staff development, education, and professional growth. This role will also lead a long-term pharmacy initiative, contribute to policies and procedures, and promote consistent best practices across retail pharmacy locations.
SCHEDULE: 40-hours per week
SHIFT: Variable Shifts
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains a professionally operating retail pharmacy and conducts self as a role model, serving as a resource for the other retail pharmacy partners.
- Staff primarily as a retail pharmacist but may be required to work in other functions of the retail pharmacy operations in support of the department.
- Is an expert retail pharmacist who relies on skills of comprehensive knowledge and experience.
- Provides staff development and education in area of retail pharmacy.
- Takes ownership of one long-term retail pharmacy project assuring that the information, data is carried through to all the retail pharmacies.
- Participates in formulating retail pharmacy policies and procedures in the provision of pharmaceutical care.
- Maintains practice by ongoing professional literature review, continuing education and self-evaluation.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy program
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Wisconsin/Illinois Pharmacist license, depending on location
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Computer experience
- Strong accuracy skills
- Excellent interpretive/analytical skills for pharmaceutical calculations for drug dosage, IV rates, etc.
LEVEL OF SUPERVISION
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems; employee adherence to annual education and certification requirements
