OVERVIEW
Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and related techniques. Administers x-radiation to produce diagnostic images for physician interpretation. May be required to alternate shifts, weekends, holidays, and take call. May be asked to flex hours and overtime as necessary to provide quality patient care at assigned sites(s).Works as part of a multidisciplinary team. Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay Range: $27.17 - $33.96
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs diagnostic radiographic, portable, c-arm and fluoroscopic procedures.
Reviews patients’ clinical history ensuring that appropriate order placed and labs are within range as needed- reviewing with radiologist as necessary
Provides patient education.
Selects and operates imaging equipment, image capture devices and accessories to successfully perform procedures.
Positions patient to best demonstrate anatomic area of interest, respecting patient ability and comfort.
Initiates basic life support when necessary.
Determines radiographic technique and exposure factors.
Follows ALARA principles through accurate exposure factors and radiographic techniques.
Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others.
Reports and documents XR safety incidents/ adverse events per protocol.
Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
Uses radiology information systems (including PACS), completes all required records and reports, submits images and data for physician review and interpretation.
Assist with medical record/image sharing as necessary.
Documents all information pertinent to XR/FL procedure in electronic medical record to include medication reconciliation
Provides practical instruction for radiography students and partners.
Applies principles of patient safety during procedures, including assisting and transporting patients.
Operates mobile radiologic equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patient's bedside.
Assists radiologist in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
Prepares contrast media and assists in administration.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
One (1) to Three (3) years experience preferred
Will consider new graduates
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
ARRT Radiography registration required
IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required if working in Illinois
WI-DSPS radiographer license required if working in Wisconsin
Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days

LEVEL OF SUPERVISION
Works independently with limited direct supervision.
SUPERVISES
Provides clinical supervision of allied health students and radiology aides.
