Essential Functions Statement(s) This position requires the operation of Company vehicles for the purpose of deliveries and pick-ups. Delivery and pick-up services are both local and out of State routes. Routes allow drivers to be home daily, however; circumstances may arise with weather conditions, vehicle repair issues, or special delivery needs that may require a driver to spend the night in a hotel on occasion. This position also requires working in Shipping & Receiving departments, in addition to regular driving assignments. Work schedule flexibility is a necessity of this position with the potential for over-time at short notice. Responsible for maintaining vehicles to ensure insurance and registration are with the vehicle at all times, maintaining vehicle and dock cleanliness is part of the job. Will be crossed trained to work in other areas of the shop when not driving. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)Experience: One to two years related experience preferred. Computer Skills Understands how to use company Intranet including navigating the Quality, Environmental, and CIT system.Able to look up SDS. Other Requirements Must have valid driver’s license, with no restrictions.Must be at least 23 years oldForklift certification required. (Will certify in-house)Neat professional appearance and good social skills are a must, as driving duties include both inside and outside customer contacts. Our Gleason drivers represent the company to our customers.Excellent communication skills a must. Will work closely with other drivers and dock personnel.Practice and follow the Gleason Business Philosophy (GBP), and be knowledgeable in the company’s ISO 9001 & 14001 targets, objectives and goals. Have a clear understanding of your departmental work instructions and processes. Employee is required to learn, understand and practice Lean Manufacturing principles within our facility.Employee will be required to train new drivers when applicable.
