- Investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions to improve product quality and process efficiency.
- Develop and manage workflow schedules to meet production targets.
- Design novel tooling as needed to support manufacturing processes.
- Consult on the need for new tooling such as hobbers, shaper cutters, and grinding wheels.
- Train production staff and other team members as required.
- Inspect and measure components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Consult on assembly processes to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Analyze dimensional changes resulting from special processes such as heat treatment.
- Review and interpret blueprints and work instructions to guide manufacturing activities.
- Assess machine tool capabilities to ensure they meet production requirements.
Qualifications & Skills - Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in manufacturing environments.
- Working knowledge of material characteristics including hardness and machinability.
- Experience with tooling design and consultation, including hobbers, shaper cutters, and grinding wheels.
- Ability to analyze and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and dimensional data.
- Proficient in assessing machine tool capabilities and limitations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to interface with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to train and mentor production personnel as needed.
Education & Experience Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Relevant manufacturing experience is highly valued. ``` |
