Job Description: A successful Winnebago County law firm is seeking a detailed and self-motivated Paralegal to add to their team. Able to work independently, efficiently, and adapt well to sudden re-prioritization of assignments and regular work flow interruptions. Must be responsible and confident speaking with attorneys, clients, and court personnel. Responsibilities: Ability to communicate and interact well with clients and other attorneys; Ability to prioritize and multi-task; Managing client information and organizing client files from open to close; Assist in preparing and maintaining Legal Documents; Docketing, scheduling and monitoring dates; Drafting and proofreading contracts, pleadings and correspondence; Organizing and reviewing discovery with supervising attorneys; E-filing in Winnebago, Boone, McHenry and Stephenson Counties; Researching legal issues. Requirements: Must be tech-savvy, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and able to quickly learn new software applications; Must be highly motivated with the ability to work independently within deadlines; Possess strong work ethic with attention to accuracy and detail; Must know how to prioritize a workload, adapt to changing priorities and stay motivated; Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and be a superb proofreader; Must have earned a paralegal certificate/degree or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience and ability.
